Moose Be Your Day

This card is very special to me because it's my husband's birthday card. He's crazy about moose and always teases me that he wants a moose head to hang on the wall. Well, this is about as close as he's going to get to that dream. The image and sentiment are from the Moose set from Doodle Pantry. As soon as I saw this set, I had to have it. It comes with a full moose as well as just the moose head. I printed the moose on white card stock and colored him with Copic markers (E33, E35, E57, E59) and cut him out. I then mounted him on the trophy board which was cut on my Silhouette Cameo. The sentiment was printed on vanilla card stock and distressed with Close to Cocoa ink from Stampin' Up! The designer paper is also from Doodle Pantry, from the Wood Pile set. I mounted everything on a vanilla card base and then added some masculine bling.

Dreams Take Flight

The butterfly is a freebie I found on the internet. It was perfect for this type of coloring. This is a coloring technique that I learned from Jennie Black at the San Diego Scrapbook Convention last month. I printed the butterfly on Crafter's Companion card stock and colored it with Spectrum Noir's (sorry, I can't remember the 3 colors) and then cut it out by hand. The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs Dreams Take Flight mini set. The bling is from Queen & Co. and the designer paper is from my stash.

Doctorate of Thinkology

Here is a fun card I created using Doodle Pantry's new release Li'l Scare. I also used  the new set Old Wheelbarrow. Using an image software program, I first placed the scarecrow, and I did a horizontal flip so he was facing the opposite direction. I placed the wheelbarrow so it looked like it rested in his hand. The diplomas were rotated and stacked in the wheelbarrow and then one on the ground. Then I added the sentiment, which is also from the Li'l Scare set. The images were colored with Copic markers (scarecrow: hat & jeans - B93, B95, B97; shirt - YG23, YG25, YG67; hair and straw - Y23, Y26; buttons and shoes - C4, C5, C9; skin - E00, R02; rope and wheelbarrow - E33, E37, E59; diplomas - C0, C2, R37, B93, B97). I then layered it on black card stock and used the ribbon fibers behind it to mimic the straw coming out of him. The designer paper is from the Li'l Scare set as well. The card base is white card stock.

Love Always

This is a wedding card I created after playing with my Silhouette Cameo. All cut files are from Silhouette of America's online store. The stamps are from Gina K. Designs. I cut the gate fuld card first, but decided I couldn't come up with something to do other than an invitation, and I didn't want that. So, I cut off the folds from the card and glued them to a piece of white card stock. I then cut a circle from Spellbinder's and cut that exactly in half and glued them to the edges. I cut the flowers in 4 different sizes, so each one has 2 flowers. I stamped the sentiment, which is from two different Gina K. Design sets. And then I added all the bling...and there is a lot of it on this card. I hope you can see it all.

Sweet Friend

Doodle Pantry Release. Yep, you're seeing correctly. Laurie has another release today. She is re-releasing 5 stamp sets that she has digitally colored and the brand new Country Flavors Digital Paper pack!

For my sample, I used the Oranges & Cherries set. This is a previously released set that has now been colorized. You still get the outline images, which is what I chose to use. I printed the image and sentiment from the same set on white card stock. I colored my image with Copic markers (cherries - R24, R46, R59; leaves - YG03, YG63, YG67; branch - E33, E79). I added glossy accents to the cherries to make them shine. I cut an oval on my Silhouette Cameo and used the negative space as a mask. Using Real Red ink from Stampin' Up!, I sponged around the inside of the oval. I mounted the image on a piece of black card stock and then on a white card stock base. I added the crystal flower and flourish bling and then the red round crystals at the bottom of the card.

Check out the entire store for all of July's new releases and don't forget that you still have time for the 25% off sale. Also, be sure to check for the freebies that were added this month too. You're going to love them.

Be the Change

I am seriously obsessed with making butterfly cards right now. I did a make-n-take at our Scrapbook Expo this past Friday and we did an amazing CAS Butterfly card. I came home, went looking on the internet for the perfect butterfly, and finally found it. There was no name for a company on this digi butterfly, just found it in images. I think it was from a coloring book, but I'm not certain. In the last 2 days, I have made 5 butterfly cards using Spectrum Noir markers and Copic Markers. You will be seeing the posts for most of them later.

The Monday Greeting challenge at The Outlawz was a perfect outlet for making this one. This week they are having a color challenge - orange, green & yellow - melon colors.

I printed this twice on white Crafter's Companion card stock and colored both copies with Copic markers (YR02, YR04, YR07). I left one of the butterflies on the white card stock base and used Spellbinder's Labels One to cut it out. I used Spellbinder's Decorative Labels One in black card stock behind it. I loved the way it mimics the dots on the butterfly's wings. I hand-cut the second butterfly and then sprayed it with Sparkle Glitter and mounted it on top of the other butterfly. The rest of the colors for the challenge are in the designer paper that I used as a "ribbon" behind the focal image.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Design's Follow Your Dreams set. I finished the card with 3 tiny crystals in each of the colors of the challenge.

Christmas Lamppost

This is my second post for the Doodle Pantry July release. For this sample, I used the new Vintage Lamppost and Holiday Greetings sets. I also used an older set called Poinsettia.

You can get this set free with purchase from July 1st - July 24th. It has some incredible digital papers and wonderful sentiments.

For this card, I printed an outline version of the vintage lamppost and colored it with Copic markers (lamp - C02, C04, C05, C09; flame - Y00, Y13, Y17) and used glossy accents for the glass portion of the lamp. I used the Sakura clear glitter pen on the "iron" portions of the lamp. I cut the lamp with Resplendent Rectangles from Spellbinders and distressed it using Basic Gray ink and then mounted it on another rectangle cut from the same set using Ruby Red card stock. I mounted that on a piece of black card stock and then a white card stock base distressed with Basic Gray and Ruby Red ink (all paper and ink from Stampin' Up!). I printed 2 very small outline images of the poinsettia and colored the with Copic markers (leaves - G20, G24, G28 and flower petals - R00, R17, R24, R27). I hand-cut them both out and mounted one on top of the other and then mounted it on the lamppost with 3 punched branches from McGill. The sentiment was printed on white card stock and punched out using a large oval punch from Stampin' Up! and distressed with Ruby Red and Basic Gray ink. To finish the card I added 3 glitter snowflakes from Jolee's Boutique and changed the clear crystals to red crystals.

Don't forget, you can get the Holiday Greetings set FREE just for playing along with our challenge on the Doodle Pantry blog.

Li'l Tin's Brain Needs Oilin'!

Do you know what time it is?  Oh yeah, it's Doodle Pantry time! I am so excited about this July release, and I think you are going to be too. In addition to some fabulous digi sets, Laurie has created an homage to The Wizard of Oz. There are 4 individual sets: Li'l Dot, Li'l Roar, Li'l Scare and Li'l Tin; and a bundle called Li'l Oz, that has all four of these sets, plus a combined image of all 4 characters on the brick road and 4 additional curved sentiments.

For this release, I chose to use a pre-colored image of the tin man and a sentiment from Li'l Tin. It is an absolutely adorable set, and so much fun to play with. I also used the yellow brick road from the Li'l Dot set. Here is a picture of what you will get in the two sets I used.

Using my Fireworks software, I combined the yellow brick road, with Li'l Tin standing on it, and the sentiment into one file. I printed this out twice. I know it's hard to tell, but Li'l Tin is actually dimensional. I hand-cut his hat, body, left hand, knees and shoes and popped them up on top of the original image. I used the Sakura clear glitter pen on all of his bolts to make them stand out a bit. I then added a metal heart on his body. The oil can was cut using my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file from their online store. I used the glitter pen to make it shine. This was layered on a piece of designer paper from the Li'l Tin set.

Doodle Pantry is also having a wonderful 4th of July sale from July 1st - 7th. You will get 25% off any of the new July releases (with the exception of Li'l Oz, which has already been reduced). Just use the coupon code JULY25OFF at checkout to receive your discount.

You can also get free sets from Doodle Pantry. From now until July 4th, you can get USA Star free. And, when you join Doodle Pantry's Blog Challenge DPDC36 between July 1st and July 24th, you will receive the new Holiday Greetings set free.
